Until recently we strongly recommended against hanging a clock anywhere near a radiator or other heat source as the temperature fluctuations could damage the internal mechanism. However, following on from our tests, this guidance has been relaxed (giving you a bit more scope for locations to hang your clock!)

Just so long as the clock is not within 50cm of a radiator or heat source, your clock will be happy.

Adding to this, when considering where to hang a clock, the only other things you should bear in mind are:

- The clocks are for indoor use only

- We recommend that the clocks are not hung in a steamy environment such as a bathroom

- The clocks can change weather forecast at any time of day or night. And the little burble the clocks make when moving might wake you if one was hung by your bed!

Beyond these recommendations, there are no specific requirements for where is best to position a Weather Clock. Traditional Barometers were often hung in hallways or other draughty rooms so that they picked up the outdoor changes in air pressure as soon as possible. Whilst this logic still works for the Weather Clocks, there's no inherent need to do this and we really just say that the clocks can go in any room where it will give you most pleasure to see it change!
